When comparing electric vehicles, look at the size of the battery (measured in kWh) and how efficient the vehicle is. These determine the range, or how far the vehicle can go between charges.

Drive as normal
Drivers download a free smartphone app to get a day-to-day simulation of driving the selected electric van.
See the complete picture
After a week or so, you can check the potential for switching each vehicle. And compare leasing or finance using total cost of ownership figures, all based on your likely charging patterns.
What are the benefits for SMEs?
Reassure drivers
A simple smartphone app gives day-to-day simulation of driving an electric van. Your drivers can edit payload and see the effect of seasonal temperatures to get real-world confidence about range. They can also check for chargers in their current location.
See total costs
The online dashboard shows the potential for switching your business vehicles, highlighting the most cost-effective replacements using Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Calculations are based on actual journeys and likely charging patterns. Businesses can also explore their potential for on-site solar generation.
An SME's guide to going electric
Can electric cost less?
Yes, you'll pay more for an electric vehicle upfront. But the running costs are much, much lower.
Electric saves you through fuel, tax and servicing (and more if you pay congestion charges in your area).
There are many benefits for companies with electric fleets - like grants for chargers at your employees' homes.

How does your business drive?
An EV shouldn't compromise your business. Your mileage is important, but knowing the details of routes means we can match you to an ideal battery size. Not too big (wasted expense), or too small (time lost to charging), but just right.
Most new LGV models do over 100 miles on a full charge, many do more.
If you are driving further afield, the convenience of any model depends on the size of the battery, the efficiency of the vehicle and the speed at which you can recharge it at ‘rapids’ (public charge points).
The range of any EV depends on the season and on your driving too. You’ll go much further than this at lower speeds on warm days, and around 10% less than this on cold days. Your driving speed and style also have a big impact.
What about charging an electric van?
Charging is what many small businesses worry about, and makes a big impact to the overall cost, but it can be the most convenient thing about going electric.
Is your van parked on a driveway outside an employee's home? Is there a chance for it to be plugged in during the working ?
If you expect to do lots of longer journeys, consider the on-board max speed. That's the number of miles you can add in each minute of rapid charging.
